GT1 represents a distinct era of high-performance GT racing, defined by powerful cars, limited technical restrictions, and a strong emphasis on engineering capability and operational execution. Brinkmann Motorsport has experience supporting GT1-related programmes, where performance was driven as much by technical understanding and preparation as by outright speed.
Engineering support in GT1 environments focused on vehicle setup, balance optimisation, drivetrain and braking performance, and managing reliability under high mechanical loads. With fewer regulatory constraints than modern GT categories, GT1 required a disciplined, methodical approach to testing, data analysis, and race execution to ensure consistent performance across varying conditions.
The technical and operational experience gained through GT1 programmes continues to influence Brinkmann Motorsport’s approach to current GT and endurance racing categories. Lessons learned in managing high-power cars, mechanical robustness, and driver adaptability remain directly applicable to modern GT3 and prototype racing environments.
While GT1 competition itself has evolved, the engineering mindset developed during this period, precision, accountability, and performance under pressure, remains a core part of Brinkmann Motorsport’s technical DNA.
